Why Travel During Fall?

Have you been bitten by the travel bug this year? If you haven't then consider yourself lucky because one of the best-kept secrets when indulging your wanderlust is to travel during Fall.

Although summer and spring can be fun, the hundreds of thousands of other tourists who want to go where everyone else is can put a damper on your trip. And traveling during winter is great if you love the cold, wanna see snow or go skiing that is.

So, here are some of the reasons why you should start planning your Fall trip ASAP.

Weather Is Just Right.

It’s not too hot and not too cold. It’s perfect weather for hiking and exploring the city or the more natural scenic spots around it. You can go on adventures and feel quite comfortable doing so.  Also, wearing gorgeous sweaters, scarves or ultra-cool jackets are a great look.

Costs less.

If the cost of travel is too prohibitive then fall is great time because it’s the cheapest time to travel. This weather is considered “off-season” so airfare and hotel rates don’t cost as much as summer or the holidays. And if you’re feeling adventurous, go visit the Caribbean. It’s especially affordable because it’s hurricane season.

Less crowded.

If you’re allergic to crowds and can’t stand the jostling and elbowing to look at the city’s attractions then this is the ideal time for you. Kids are in school by this time so there are fewer people having a family vacay. Also, there’s no need to make reservations or wait in long lines too.

Colors are beautiful.

Think bold shades of red, yellow and orange-colored leaves welcoming you everywhere you go.  It’s a great time to go nature tripping or going on a road trip if only to enjoy this colorful scenery. Mother Nature went crazy with her paintbrush when autumn came along.

Festival season.

There are a lot of festivals because it’s a wonderful time to be out in the open air. Pack your bags and take your pick of any of the fabulously fun festivities like Takayama Festival in Japan, The Abu Simbel festival in Egypt when the light falls perfectly to illuminate the statues of Ramses, Ra and Amun, Oktoberfest in Germany and, London Fashion Week.

Food trip fun.

It’s harvest time for apples, pears, squash, pumpkins, and sweet potatoes so expect a lot of interesting and unique dishes to be made from these ingredients. It’s also a great time for comfort food and warm dishes to soothe you during those chilly nights. You’ll feel full, happy and cozy,  whether it is from a resto or a home-cooked meal.
